Just a quick look at Istanbul, Turkey

The airport alone can be the highlight of a trip. Usually that is the first and last impression you have of any location , so most countries do their best to offer a lasting impression to all who come through.

The new airport covers 76 million square meters (more than 818 million square feet or 18,780 acres) and can currently handle 90 million passengers a year in phase one. When the entire airport is completed, it will be able to handle 200 million passengers a year. That will make it the world’s biggest airport by passenger traffic. In comparison, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, currently the world’s busiest airport, handles 107 million passengers a year. Looks like Atlanta airport will soon lose its first place.
There will be 55,000 square meters (592,000 square feet) of Duty Free shops. The Duty Free area, inspired by the Bosphorus, a famous waterway in Turkey, will have seven sections housing different concepts, including “Fashion Garden,” “Family Palace” and “Style Beach,” each selling brands related to its theme. My experience :

Turkey, is a transcontinental country straddling Southeastern Europe and Western Russia. Istanbul is known for its architecture from the Byzantine and Ottoman empires, Turkish cuisine, Mosques Bazaars, Turkish baths , palaces and shopping malls. Their hand crafted artifacts are simple special, the people speak Turkish as well as English. They eat a lot of bread for my liking but generally their food is good. I did not spend too much time in the city but here are a few highlights that will make you want to put this location on your travel list.
