How to have a perfect botanical garden day

Botanical gardens are an amazing place to go when you need a break from the city or want to spend time in nature. They offer so many different things including sculptures, food, water features and manicured gardens. The options for things to do at botanic gardens are endless! Different gardens have different things to see. You can find another perfect botanic day option at  http://ec-travels.com/one-of-top-five-gardens-in-north-america

One of my favorite parts of visiting a botanic garden is seeing all the beautiful flowers that are on display there. It’s really calming and relaxing when you’re surrounded by such vibrant colors everywhere you look. If you’re looking for even more relaxation, head over to one of the water features like the pond with koi fish or take a walk through some luscious green grasses with your picnic basket in tow!

The Gardens at the Forth Worth is a hidden gem.  Located in the center of the town , it is about one hour drive from Love field airport in Dallas. It is a great way to  spend an afternoon exploring. There is a $12 admission fee and it is and open year round so you can stop by anytime!

WHAT TO DO ONCE YOU ARE IN THE GARDEN

  • Have a blast looking for water sculptures
  • check out the different plants on display
  • playing on swings overlooking some beautiful gardens
  • Have  lunch outside under an oak tree that was perfect shade for our picnic.
  • Take an educational walk through the gardens
  • Check to see if they have a butterfly house , you will love it.
  • You’ll want to spend all day here but if you’re short on time try stopping by during these hours: 10 am-2 pm
  • Go hiking
  • Spend some time with fishes in the ponds
  • If going with kids, find the play ground and let them have a perfect botanic day playing around.
  • Explore and relax
  • The Japanese garden at this location is a must see. Take note and find it on location map.
  • Don’t miss going into the huge green house. Caution; it is quite hot inside , but the roaring fountain makes it all worth the visit.
  • Be sure to visit all 33 locations on the map. Note you might not be able to visit all locations in one day

PLAN TO HAVE THE FOLLOWING BEFORE YOU GO:

  • Have some sun screen
  • Have mosquito repellent or any form of bug spray.
  • Wear low or comfortable shoes ( sneakers are best ) some portions are rocky.
  • Have credit card or cash to pay entry fees.
  • Look at the site map to get an idea of how much time you need.
  • It’s best to plan for long than short visits ,to avoid feeling rushed
  • Plan to have a picnic , it is undoubtedly the best part of having a perfect botanical garden day.
  • Carry water  and snacks to enjoy as you walk around or just sit and gaze into the lush gardens.
  • Grab a map at the front desk to guide you though out the garden. Feeling lost can be very frustrating and put a damper on your perfect botanic day.
  • Bring a mat or blanket to lay on the grass and take in the scenery and scents
  • Don’t forget your camera to capture the moments.
