We have survived one year plus of the pandemic which has effected travel a great deal. During the past here up until now I have done a few local, trips and several international trips. So it is safe to say I witnessed quite a variation of changes by airlines and by people.
First the empty airports up until January was something for the books. I was surprised and happy at the same time, sometimes it was outright scary. Happy because I did not have to deal with people , social distance was not an issue cause there was few no no one. I enjoyed the easy security lines , extra spaces in the aircraft , people not rushing to disembark upon arrival. One the flip side , I missed the hustle and bustle of airport life , the junk food , the happy hour type bars , people watching and especially no snacks or drinks in the air. Wearing a mask was no issue for me , it doubled up as Covid protection as well as keeping the cold plane air out of my nose.
Southwest airlines did great with being clean and taking all Covid precautions. Delta airlines came in first in my opinion, their Covid measures was super and the small hygiene bag was a blast (international) Turkish airlines also had a nice selfcare package but offered us nothing but snacks , water and baby juice for 18 hours of flight time. My worst experience so far.
My Pandemic locations included:
Los Angeles , Arizona , Alaska, Las Vegas , Paris France, Cameroon Africa and Istanbul Turkey.
Get Vaccinated if you are a traveler and continue to follow all Covid restrictions. We await the complete opening of the world and life going back close to normal if not all the way back as usual.
