Chaminuka Game Reserve
Looking for a unique travel destination with plenty of African vibes? Look no further than the Chaminuka Game Reserve. This reserve is home to an abundance of wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, and elephants. What’s more, the reserve offers ample opportunity for hiking and bird watching via lake canoe ride.
The reserve is about a 45mins drive from Lusaka. I remember taking note of the sanitation process on the road leading up to the reserve. It was nice to see that there was someone stationed at the roadside to spray car tires with sanitizer. The funny part was that you had to continue driving on dirt road with potholes and standing water. So, I wondered in my mind, why they had to bother sanitizing the tires.
This game reserve also have their own cheese factory which is one of the activities they offer. You can opt to tour their factory to see how cheese is made here, as well as enjoy the taste of different kinds of cheese. Once you arrive at the office, you get to choose the activities you want to do for that day and make all payments. After which, you will be escorted to each one by their staff. Other than the fascinating wildlife and lake ride, the lunch buffet was well worth the price.

Local currency is preferred but hey also accept the dollar. Be sure to have cash ready for tips. The office accepts credit cards as well.
