When you are away on vacation , one are on a mission to enjoy good food, fun activities , entertainment and relaxation. Food is usually a great part of your vacation. Sometimes street food excites you more than regular restaurant food. You even get to make your own food sometimes depending on where you are staying. I don’t particularly like the idea of grocery shopping and preparing my own food when on vacation. Not a bad idea though ,it helps with cutting cost and maybe using it to buy souvenirs.
On my last trip to Spain, we stayed at the Marriot vacation resort in Marbella. This resort offered a cooking class as an activity. Before you sign up for resort activities, be sure to find out if there is a cost. While we were taking a walk one afternoon, the hotel staff was making small talk and encouraged us to attend a cooking class they where offering. The class was quite interesting, we got to watch them make Paella a local Spanish dish. After eating and enjoying the meal , we found out we had to pay for it , not fun.
Another thing I enjoyed cooking or fixing I should say, was how they made home made Sangria. You had to participate in some trivia to win the drink.
Just some things to think about when going to Spain. ( Malaga and Marbella Specifically )
- Plan for a long drive from the airport, So have some water and snacks.
- Depending on where you are staying , plan to leave on time for your flight back.
- Good month to go is October – November. Cool mornings and evenings but very warm and nice afternoons.
- Car rental is possible but expensive.
- Uber is available there ( very nice )
- You can also use the train form Marbella to Malaga for shopping and site seeing.
