There are so many beautiful resort towns in Mexico, each with its own unique attribute. Puerto Vallarta is a very special tourist destination for so many reasons. We are just going to mention five fun things to do here.
You have a choice of hotels, resorts and other spots to stay. Be sure to lock in your accommodation prior to your arrival. You will think this is a no brainer, but lots of people still find themselves looking for a place to stay when they arrive.
Someone told me it was done so as to get last minute resort or hotel deals. Am not sure what happens when this fails, and you start to scramble.
Vacation time is for fun, rest and recreation. There is so much to enjoy in Puerto Vallarta but here are just five fun things to do:
- Amongst so many other great locations, in Puerto Vallarta, I think a stay at Marival distinct all-inclusive resort cannot be missed. This is an adult only resort with a beautiful layout for dinning, swimming and just lounging around. The rooms are spacious and Lucious. Clean and pristine decor. Suites have infinity private pools on the roof top.

The beach area is laid out nicely, with deluxe beach chairs, restaurants facing the beach, as well as an illustrious beach bar. All staff are kind and courteous at all times. The food is delicious with lots of variety. Just a side note, their steaks were the best if you are a meat lover.
This resort brand has two locations not far from each other. The other location is Marival Emotions. This is a family friendly resort with lots to do for the kids. Unfortunately, as a guest at this location you are only allowed to visit the sister resort by paying a day pass fee of a hundred dollars. But if you are staying at Marival Distinct you have access to both places. Especially because Emotions have lots of shows, clubs and activities, while the Distinct location is more laid back and relaxing.
Taking a drive out to town is another one of the five fun things to do in Puerto Vallarta. From our hotel, it was a 45minutes drive Downtown. On the way we saw so many beautiful sites, lots of tourist attraction. We ended up for a group dessert and drinks fun times.
The restaurant was simply superb, the atmosphere was lovely and quaint. Mariscos Nayarit sits right on the beach. You can eat inside or out with your feet in the sand. Looking at the ocean, enjoying the breeze, and we had a chance to watch lovely fireworks display over the water. Great place to add to your list of places to eat and things to do in Puerto Vallarta.
3. Local Markets are a great activity when on vacation in any location. In Puerto Vallarta it is one of the five fun things to do while visiting. If you are staying in a location downtown Nayarit, you will have lots of market options. Mostly along the streets, you can find lots of souvenir sheds, local crafts men and women as well as merchandize geared towards tourist interest.
Everyone loves to shop but do so wisely and safely. It is best to have the local currency when visiting area markets and when going around town. If you are from the United States, the use of the dollar lets everyone know you are a visitor and might have an adverse effect in some places.
The use of the dollar might also lead to paying higher prices for items without knowing. Also know the exchange rate of currencies so you don’t get cheated and also so that you can shop wisely. After taking all necessary precautions, shopping is a great activity that allows you to see more of the city and learn about their local culture and foods in the markets.

The blue sea and soft sand will take your breath away and make an enjoyable day of swimming, diving, watching the birds and much more. Tours make for an unforgettable vacation. Activities can be booked online prior to your trip, but sometimes the hotel concierge can make great suggestions and lead you to some exciting adventures. My most fun adventure was parasailing. You can also choose packages to suite your desires. Such as swimming with dolphins, meeting the sea lions, horseback riding, ziplining and lots more

Plan your trip ahead of time
Schedule airport transportation (picks you up upon arrival and takes you to your hotel/resort)
Have your receipt readily available and know the name of the transport company, else you will get really overwhelmed, as there are so many transporters seeking your attention at the same time when you arrive. This can be very frustrating and risky,
Be very vigilant of your surroundings.
Get some money exchange at the airport, just enough to take care of your transportation, if you did not already pay online.
The weather and the season are very important to note, the hurricane is a common weather issue that can mess up your trip. The hurricane came through Nayarit when I was there, and the rains changed the wedding plans of the wedding I was attending. The couple thought they had picked the right season, but mother nature had a different plan. So, the weather situation is a very crucial part of planning your wedding trip.
If you are there to have a wedding or any celebration, check with the hotel and arrange for inside location for your event in case of weather issues such as rain or worse.
Most resorts have an airport flight monitor. Be sure to check for delays or cancellations to your flights. Ask questions when booking about flight cancellation and extension of your stay. Explore comp days or discounts
Ask hotel valet to call you a cab for your airport ride on the day of departure. Allow at least three hours ahead of your flight time.
It is a great gesture to give tips as you go along and get services from those working to make sure you enjoy your stay.
